We had the best time hunting, chatting, tramping, and eating with both of you. It really was a dream vacation for us. The lodge was so inviting and comfortable. The views were spectacular. Mark, your expertise made for exciting days hunting. Especially for me (Lisa) since it was my first time. I enjoyed every minute. It was so fun to watch Terry and Alex do something they love. You also had safety in mind at all times and that put me at ease and made the trip enjoyable and relaxing.

But what made the trip special was that it wasn't just about the hunt. Felicity, your home cooked meals were a delicious treat everyday. We were always excited when we heard the quad come rumbling up at dinner time. Mark and Felicity, we also enjoyed your company and conversation. How lovely to spend a week with new friends. We feel like we really lived New Zealand. We learned so much about you and your beautiful country in a way we never could have done on our own.

I just spent the most exciting week hunting at Ranginui. Every day was an AWESOME adventure!
Every time I scoped the hills and creeks, I saw game feeding and moving around… lots of game and a wide variety of animals including Red, Fallow and Rusa Deer with plenty of Rams and Turkeys.
Mark and Felicity are fantastic hosts. I slept like a log every night and couldn’t help but gain a pound or two with all those excellent New Zealand flavored meals.
Mark guided me to several large stags but the one that we finally took, was one remarkable trophy. I have never seen such a massive rack on any game animal and later had the stag’s picture in my local newspaper to share with all my hunting buddies.
You can bet that I’ll be back!

When I was searching for a hunting week during my stay in New Zealand I had contacted many outfitters. Felicity and Mark came back to me with a good offer and so I decided for them. They are also located in the fantastic landscape of the King County. As I arrived the welcome was warm and friendly and the lodge is fantastic. Build on the top of a hill I had a nice view on the valleys in which is was going to hunt. Sometimes you can even see the Red Deer playing in the valleys.
Mark is a competent and customer-oriented guide which has a great knowledge about the NZ forest and its wildlife. There is a great variety of game you can hunt in the area. Also the landscape is wonderful and contributed my enjoyment of the trip. Felicity is a great host and her cooking is formidable. I really enjoyed the genuine New Zealand cuisine. She also managed the business issues very fast and reliable.
The game is very strong, especially the Red Stags I have seen were much bigger than the average European ones. Unfortunately they had already lost their antlers. Nevertheless I had a great hunting experience with shooting Rusa Stag, , Fallow Hind, Ram, Goats and Turkeys.

When I was planning a hunting trip for my son Peter to shoot his first red stag and ram trophies, I spent weeks researching numerous outfits. I was not looking for a resort but wanted a true hunting experience for my son.
After several enquiries, Mark and Felicity of Ranginui were gracious enough to accommodate us for a short 4 day hunt just before Christmas, the only time I could get away from work. I was concerned our trip out to New Zealand would be wasted if we never got a chance to sight a trophy animal.
My concerns were unnecessary. By the time we returned home on Christmas Eve, we had shot two red stags, two rams, a goat and a fallow deer over a short three days. We could not have asked for more.
Mark and Felicity made our trip a memorable one and my son will soon have the trophies to remind him of the hunt and the friendship of the Brough family.

I was really satisfied with the hunting trip at your place, that’s for sure. The hut is really nice, and the food was also really good, Flemming and I talk a lot about that. I was really glad that you said if I shoot a red stag and it was a gold then I don’t have too paid extra for that. I think was a really good deal. And then you said I could shoot a fallow hind for the same price that’s was really a good deal. I like the way you was guide as not too fast and let us see what happens. Flemming and I is still talking about that weekend and I am sure that I will come back for more hunting next time I come to New Zealand.
